So my friend Twist has "lost" or forgotten his password to his MSN hotmail account. This has happened to me on several occassions and while I have always managed to find a solution(read*give up) my friend is a stubborn jack-ass. So this post is just a "Hack the Planet" Shout out. If anyone has suggestions beyond my obvious solution please do post. Jack in and shoot some black ice.

I dont know the legalities of hacking your own account but I heard of something called a brute force algorithm.
Ahh yes the brute force... by that I assume you mean beat your computer with a baseball bat, and then it won't matter that you lost your password?
I would guess it is about twice as effective as aaaaaaa1, aaaaaaa2, ...

Password Does Not Work
Three likely possibilities:
1. Operator error. Be sure you are entering the ID Number & Password *SET* exactly as shown. Pasting in a password or ID Number will often add a space which will make the password unacceptable. The first two characters are letters, the last five are digits.
2. You are using MS Internet Explorer and have checked the "Remember Password" box. It is possible that you entered an incorrect ID Number or Password when you originally did this. MSIE also has a bug with the "Remember Password" feature which corrupts the form when sent to the server. Un-check the box, enter the ID Number & Password with care which will cure this problem.
3.Browser problem. Some relatively early versions of MS Explorer 5.0 (includes the AOL version) have a known bug with password encryption. If you are certain that you are entering the password set exactly as shown, download a new version of Explorer or AOL or use Netscape.

I could never convice MS i am who I am... i have no idea what false information i put in when i signed up..
i understand what you mean, you've always got to have your brainscanblocking hat on before you tell ANYONE your real name hey?....
however, if you're really dedicated you can get yr account back. you will have to write MS and be prepared to smoke pole & munch box. just today i regained access to my email account, after providing blood, urine, stool & semen samples, being subjected to both retnal scans & anal probes & promising my body to micro$ucks cybernetics program i was finally permitted to reset my password... thanks to the devil for his help & to the sunglass man for offering himself up as a target for aggression & saving me from smashing a monitor, cheers
