Hump Day

Saturday, February 03, 2007

I have been as busy as anyone can be. Its 5pm and I am getting ready for graveyards at the mill. I got my coffee in front of me and Im trying to get fired up. I only work weekends and that may not sound like a lot but with 12 hour shifts it makes for a long week. Saturdays are by far the longest. While the nightclubs rock out, so too do I but not to the droning techno of liquor fueled dance beats. No hot girls sweating in spandex. I rock out to the sound of a million saw blades whirring madly. With old stinky men wearing flannel.

Hump day is today, the apex of my journey, the height of the work week. I just like to say hump day because it conjures up visions of a pleasant day spent in carnal debauchery as opposed to the yard stick it actually represents. I can only hope the day goes by quickly and quietly. If I look out my window I can see twilight and snow, the weather channel is predicting a temperature of -18, its cold in hell.

Apparently the ground hog didn't see his shadow and we are going to have an early spring. Which would be nice if I believed in a clairvoyant rodent, which I dont. But hope springs eternal and I sympathize with anyone wanting to desperately grasp at straws and put faith in vermin to affect the tilt of the earths axis. I have a cubic shitload of movies to watch and my video game supply has never been better. So I may not have a cure for cabin fever but I do have a treatment. Lots of gaming and thermal underwear.

Vermin ARE trying to do whatever they can to bring you an early spring. And an end to winter.

Of course by "Vermin" I mean President Bush. And by "early spring" I mean so much carbon in the air that winter never really arrives.

The funniest magical rodent day I saw was when the groundhog bit the crap out of the dude in the top hat. THAT was funny.

Haha The groundhogs thirst for blood is unquenchable.
